The University offers a number of  to help students, faculty, staff and librarians have a safe and supportive campus experience. Familiarize yourself with our supports before you need them.

Finding immediate help on campus
In an emergency, call 9-1-1 first, then call Campus Safety, which is available all year, 24 hours a day. Campus Safety can direct your call to the right service, if necessary.
Personal support services for the University community:

- Employees: °Õ³ó±ð , provided by TELUS Health, is available to you and your spouse or partner, and dependent children.
Sexual violence or sexual assault support:
Visit a Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Treatment Centre immediately for help and next steps, medical treatment, support, and the option to have a Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Kit exam. Services are available 24/7/365.

Creating a safe place to study and work
°Õ³ó±ð  is a tri-campus service that offers short-term support and assistance to students, staff, faculty members, librarians, departments and organizational units with personal and/or workplace safety concerns, including:   
- Stalking and harassment
- Bullying and intimidation
- Threats
- Intimate partner violence
- Family violence
- Workplace conflict and volatile behaviour 
ÇÑ×ÓÖ±²¥ Safety & UTAlert apps
ÇÑ×ÓÖ±²¥â€™s safety apps are available for your mobile phone:
- is available for free download. Key features include Live chat with Campus Safety; TravelSafer, which allows Campus Safety to monitor a user's route while travelling in and around campus; and mobile Bluelight, which sends the user's on-campus location to Campus Safety in a crisis. Additional features such as Friend Walk and Support Services assist users worldwide.
- UTAlert and the Alertable app is our rapid notification system for important campus information such as snow closures, building evacuations and safety messages. Downloading the Alertable app allows you to receive additional safety tools and push notifications. 
Sexual violence support
- is a tri-campus service that supports students, staff, faculty and librarians at the University who have experienced, heard about, witnessed, or are supporting someone affected by sexual assault, sexual harassment or other forms of sexualized or gender-based violence.

We are truly a global university community. With students, faculty, staff and alumni from 190 countries around the world we all benefit from the diverse experiences that we are bringing to the classroom, the work environment, and everywhere else on and off campus.
