βA time of peace and careβ: Holiday message from Principal Alexandra Gillespie
In a holiday message to the community, Alexandra Gillespie, University of Toronto vice-president and principal of ΗΡΧΣΦ±²₯ Mississauga, wished βshining moments of celebration, love and joyβ to students, alumni, staff, faculty and librarians.
βThis is a time of peace and care β and a time to take a breath,β Gillespie said. βIt's more than just OK to pause and rest; it's the good and right thing to do.β
Gillespie, a professor of medieval and Renaissance literature, noted that the winter break also marks the beginning of a six-month sabbatical during which she will focus on her research. During her leave, Ian Orchard, a professor emeritus who previously served as ΗΡΧΣΦ±²₯ vice-president and principal of ΗΡΧΣΦ±²₯ Mississauga, will step back into the role in an acting capacity.
βHere's to friends, family and bright holidays together,β Gillespie said. βI hope that yours are filled with all the people who matter most to you.β
